Strand of Oaks, a.k.a. Tim Showalter, has been quite a road warrior ever since the release of his much-beloved 2010 album Pope Killdragon. He’s currently on tour promoting his latest album Dark Shores with Phosphorescent, who is also sharing material from his critically acclaimed new record Muchacho. Tonight they’ll be rolling into Johnny Brenda’s for a sold-out show that will surely have their fans eating up the new tunes. (BTW: Strand of Oaks also just released an EP with earlier versions of tracks from Dark Shores, which I actually enjoy more with its use of vintage synthesizers.
