Hurry Opening “for a Band [You] Like” at Union Transfer Feb. 22

Hurry Opening “for a Band [You] Like” at Union Transfer Feb. 22

Matt Scottoline of Everyone Everywhere takes his other project Hurry to Union Transfer this evening. Serving as the show’s opener is something that the group playfully embraces as they will be selling limited edition T-shirts that read “I Saw Hurry Open for a Band I Like.” Hurry takes Scottoline’s introspective emotive lyrics, and delivers them on an alternative rock platter, cultivating catchy pop-rock, while incorporating the ferocity of fuzzed-out guitar to add that extra bite. They will be joined by local indie punk quartet Glocca Morra who floats in a grey area that combines moments of unabashed intensity with lighter melodic points. Then, you can dive into a trio of Topshelf Records artists beginning with the well put together indie rock of A Great Big Pile of Leaves, who will be followed by the extensive ensemble, Connecticut’s The World is a Beautiful Place & I am No Longer Afraid to Die. Finally, the show is headlined by Evan Weiss led emotive-rock endeavor Into It. Over It. Union Transfer, 1026 Spring Garden St., 7pm, $15, All Ages - Michael Colavita
