Weekend Warrior, March 11 - March 13

Weekend Warrior, March 11 - March 13

Thin Lips are heading off on tour in support of their 7-inch EP release, Divorce Year (Seagreen Records), and will be hosting a hometown send-off show this Saturday night at Everybody Hits. The album showcases the band’s spry, hooky tunes that seem to indulge in equal parts Aughts pop-punk anthems and heavy Jawbreaker-style 90’s riff punk, which doesn’t make the naming of their forthcoming LP, Riff Hard (due out May 20 via Lame-O Records), that surprising. (You can check out the new music video for their latest single "Never Again" below.) Fellow slaves to the riff The Max Levine Ensemble will also be performing on the bill tomorrow, flaunting their lively, inexhaustible, sometimes political pop punk that tips the cap to turn of the millennium bands like Rise Against. Worriers will be on hand with a more subdued, pensive approach to the genre. And don’t miss Bellows, who will start the night on an intimate tone with delicately composed bedroom jams. Everybody Hits, 529 W. Girard Ave., 8:30pm, $8-$10, All Ages - Bryce Woodcock
