Weekend Warrior, March 17 - 19

Weekend Warrior, March 17 - 19

Winter seems to be a final attempt to assert its authoritative force. Despite this recent and lingering development, there is some good news The Love Club has awoken from hibernation, and will emerge this Saturday evening at PhilaMOCA. Mitch Esparza, Kyle Press and co. stretch sonic boundaries, experimenting with raw blues-garage sensibility. A steady stream of bruising rhythms and powerfully persistent guitar riffs curate the potent, engrossing onslaught of heavy, otherwise known as Hound. This local pairing lay the groundwork for a tandem of Canadian outfits. A gravitational punk-feel compounded by a psych-prog capacity that brews and brims letting the instrumental threads to matriculate in weaving fashion, heralded low profile stalwarts Simply Saucer, headline traversing a wide terrain from a simple, sticky pop-inflected songs to adventurous expansive treks. Free-floating in an airy psych-pop abyss, Poppy Seed & the Love Explosion, set the table. (Photo by JUMP Philly) - Michael Colavita
