Weekend Warrior, January 11 - 13

Weekend Warrior, January 11 - 13

Seagulls first capture our attention with the graceful melodies and textured soundscapes found on the group’s debut Great Pines, The Deli Philly’s September Record of the Month 2014. The LP was later picked up by Yellow K Records and re-issued. Today, it’s long-awaited follow-up is out now via Evergreen Prefecture/Honest Face Records (and is available on a thumb drive, packaged like Sega Genesis cartridge). “Thrown Voice‚Äč is an album about communication - interpersonally, with the environment, within one’s self - and the way that technology can facilitate or get in the way of those interactions. It’s a follow-up about the importance of following up.” Once again, Matt Whittle and friends demonstrate their musical talents, masterfully crafting a timeless sound for the modern age. Feel free to come and experience plenty of feels tomorrow night at PhilaMOCA, where Seagulls will be holding their album release show, supported by friends Spirit Haus, Queue, and URBVN. – H.M. Kauffman
