Davey and the Chains

Weekend Warrior, February 8 - 10

Mellow melodies that wash over in a refreshing, weightless fashion, tapping into unassuming R&B grooves, Davey and the Chains sway one into soulful, surf submission. There’s a loose, carefree approach amid those smooth-talking, summer-evening vibes, exuding a tendency to allow those guitars to flare up and stretch out. The soothing harmonies mingle with subtle layerings of instrumentation, creating a peaceful potency – one that relaxes the daily tensions, while tying you into the intimate rhythms. Tonight at Johnny Brenda’s, they’ll be supported by the twisted, country/fuzz-inflected, psych-folk trio of Brain Clouds, with the rollicking, Americana- seasoned rock of Britt Thomas & The Breaker Boys setting the sounds into motion. – Michael Colavita

New Davey and the Chains LP Available for Streaming & Purchase

A chill, fluid groove is ever present on Shimmy, the new album from Davey and the Chains. A gentle, surf sway and sparkle off the recording create a cozy, hip-shaking record. The laidback, fire-burning nostalgia with psychedelic threads that flare up, at times, cruises on the mellow, melodic waves but rips when the moment is right. Let it ride.

New Track: "Lil Dreamer" - Davey and the Chains

Shimmy, the forthcoming full-length LP from Davey and the Chains, is due out September 14 via Tank Beach Tapes. Strands of slide guitar merge into backend, crafting an airy, infectious groove on “Lil Dreamer”. A breakup song told as a tale of escape and moving on; the single feels like cool breeze while traveling in the twilight. A crisp R&B/soul vibe lifts in a rejuvenating, dance-generating sense of freedom.
