New Music Video: "Hey There Big Boy" - Dominy

Featured on their forthcoming album Drugstore Cowboys, Dominy recently released a new video for “Hey There Big Boy”. Directed by Bob Sweeney, the footage finds its characters running/being dragged through a wooded area. A humorous altercation leaves two disposed of, while the victor leaves with a satchel. The song has a loose, laidback groove, illuminated by the swing of keys and at-ease run of the guitar. You can catch Dominy’s record release celebration at PhilaMOCA on Saturday, June 29, where they'll be supported by Ali Awan, Barney Cortez, and The Dawn Drapes.

Video Premiere: "Mary Don't Bury Me" - Dominy

Being interrogated under the threat of force in a basement, transported in a trunk, and forced to dig one’s own grave doesn’t sound like the ideal adventure. However, when that scenario comes to fruition as the playful plot of Dominy’s “Mary Don’t Bury Me” video (directed by Bob Sweeney), it’s a reminder that everything doesn’t have to be taken so seriously. The song’s loose, catchy melody and humorous, laidback lyrics put one in a surprisingly pleasant mood. Sometimes, when surrounded by the grimness of the outside world, it’s important to remember that you can always make your own fun. "Mary Don't Bury Me" can be found on the band's new four-song EP Dry Pleather.

Video Premiere: "A Cold Wind" - Dominy

Featured on the Wet Leather LP, we’re happy to premiere the new video for “A Cold Wind” from Dominy. Cruising in the twilight hours, director Lauren Tepfer captures the single's gradual, pensive, road-weary vibe. It wears into you with a steady, semi-spoken, tell-it-like-it-is wisdom, reinforced by the hearth-glowing harmony, the twinkle of the keys, and resonating, home-welcoming, peddle steel/slide. This feels like one of those songs that one basks in, after a long night and maybe a few beverages.  You can catch an intimate, acoustic set with Dominy next Friday, June 29 at The Music Ward, joined by Rentboy, Rylan, and All Boy/All Girl. The Deli Philly's Featured Artist(s) Poll Winner: Dominy

With so much focus on the presidency these days, is it time for a concept album about our 22nd & 24th president, Grover Cleveland? Dominy mastermind John Dominy certainly thinks so, and what we do know is that John’s family will certainly be behind this truly original idea, as they have always been in regards to his musical endeavors. The band, which is also made up of his brother Alex (on keys), cousin Michael Youngkin (on guitar), and childhood pal Zakary Iannitelli (on drums), is getting ready to return to the studio next month to flesh out the ambitious concept. And while we wait to hear the life of Grover Cleveland come to fruition in song, you can learn more about Dominy, our recent Featured Artist(s) Poll Winner, HERE!

Debut Dominy LP Available for Streaming & Purchase

Wet Leather, the new album from Dominy, was recently released via Blix YZ Records. Saturated in a mixture of warm melodies with folky Americana roots and a surf-rockin' sway, the songs hint of a pleasant, grooving future. Stumbling down the road in that slightly inebriated, unobstructed-sing-along manner, the record provides a boost to one’s mood. Kung Fu Necktie will be playing host to Dominy’s album release show on Friday, January 12, where they will be supported by Sun Hat and Comfy.
