Debut Florry Album Available for Streaming & Purchase

Brown Bunny is the debut album from Francie Medosch-led Florry, and is now available via Sister Polygon Records. A delicate-fierce, folk dynamic is in play as the intimacy of the personal narratives reels you in. Amid the contemplative, cathartic tones, there’s an adventurous beauty; that balance of stillness and movement consistently shifts the scope from zoomed in to panoramic. All the while, the precision and vulnerability of the songs hold one’s focus.

Weekend Warrior, November 16 - 18

Ahead of its release on November 23 via Sister Polygon Records, Brown Bunny, the new album from Florry, will be celebrated with a release show this Saturday at Tundra Dome. There’s a sense of personal intimacy in a relaxed, folky place, and then again there’s the exploration of tension in raw punk pockets. Intimate contemplations flow forward in combustible swells as the range of the vocals ride the ebb & flow of musicality. The sonic trek is not necessarily a linear one; there are soft-spoken, soothing moments of whimsy that are contrasted or balanced by frenetic flourishes of energy. That ability to build up pressure and release it at points of respite captures a vulnerable/tenacious dynamic. The trio will be supported by the dreary, candid, post-punk melodies of local quartet Corey Flood, the enchantingly earnest songs of Emily Yacina, and tourmates Time Stalkers. – Michael Colavita

New Music Video: "Kanagawa" - Florry

"Kanagawa" is the lead single featured on Florry's forthcoming album Brown Bunny, scheduled for release on November 23 via Sister Polygon Records. Its new music video (by Jamie Alam) captures a candid/vivid home video aesthetic. There’s a mellow melancholy of overcoming loneliness within the steady progression, interjected with intense, instrumental expansions. That mix of somewhat subdued closeness with brash heaviness is an enticing combination. You can catch the band’s record release show on Sunday, November 18 at Tundra Dome, with Corey Flood, Emily Yacina, and Will Table.
