The Trust Fund Kids

New Track: "Going to Bed Now" (Modern Baseball Cover) - The Trust Fund Kids

The Platypus Zine recently released a compilation of Modern Baseball covers, a tribute to the beloved Philly outfit. Proceeds from Cover Therapy will go to L.E.A.D. DIY, an organization working to increase epilepsy awareness in music. For their part, The Trust Fund Kids took on “Going to Bed Now,” off the group's 2014 album You're Going to Miss It All. There’s a fuzzy, distorted yet up-close vibe to this version. It feels stripped and slowed down, allowing a grainy earnestness to result.

New Music Video: "Mercy Me" - The Trust Fund Kids

As we wait his debut album, Kevin Connor, a.k.a. The Trust Find Kids, just dropped a new video for his new single, “Mercy Me”. Delivered via the nostalgic VHS medium, the footage peppers in points of pop culture, while also providing a playful look into the creative process. The song, which was mixed at Sleepless Sound and mastered by Ian Farmer (formerly of Modern Baseball) at The Metal Shop, captures that bouncy, youthful angst reminiscent of Weezer, whose t-shirt is conveniently adorned. The telepathic communication between Connor and his cat is a humorous scene, with whom many a pet owner can identify with.

New Lyric Video: "Waiting On You" - The Trust Fund Kids

Kevin Connor, a.k.a. The Trust Fund Kids, has put his Featured Artist Poll mixing (Sleepless Sound Studio) and mastering (APS Mastering) prizes to good use. Below is his latest single, "Waiting On You," which is conveniently accompanied by a lyric video. The song springs into action, getting caught in a tug of war between the bright instrumental aggression and the pause-inducing, internal pondering. Taking a breath before surging toward the finish line, unresolved emotions still hold on.

The Deli Philly's Featured Artist(s) Poll Winner: The Trust Fund Kids

Though The Trust Fund Kids frontman Kevin Connor grew up in “a pretty socioeconomically privileged town in New Jersey,” he reveals that he’s “not really wealthy,” and is obviously an appreciator of satire. So we were happy to learn that Connor, Nik Slackman, and Jayson Butts will be putting our mixing and mastering prizes to good use in the coming year. Look out for a new single and hopefully a new album from the recently solidified trio in 2018, as well as more performances, but before all that happens, you can learn more about The Deli Philly’s recent Featured Artist(s) Poll Winner HERE.

New The Trust Fund Kids EP Available for Streaming & Download

As he builds toward a debut LP, Kevin Connor, a.k.a. The Trust Fund Kids, recently issued a fresh EP The Sky Looks Like A Videogame. Creating a musical compound of upbeat jangle with underlying ghostly synth/keys, these songs pleasantly haunt. Nightmarish tales of isolation gather steam, as the light fixtures in a narrative tunnel are gradually brought to full power. There’s a vibrancy that persists through the dim times.
