Cayetana Record Release Show at Golden Tea House Sept. 7

With their debut album Nervous Like Me set for release on Tuesday via Tiny Engines, the pop-punk trio of Cayetana headline a record release show presented by The Guild this evening at Golden Tea House. The tight-knit group of ladies lock into a unifying sound that touches on intimate moments and memories lyrically as the vocals express an ever emotive, unprotected side. However, they find a solid manner to measure levels of raw unfiltered snapshots and intense bursts of instrumentation, while also developing songs that capture an infectious relatable element. Punk rock four-piece Albondigas, who recently released a new single, “In The Eyes,” will serve as an appetizer. The moody, melodic pop-punk of The Spirit of the Beehive is also slated to perform as is New York power-pop outfit Chumped. A Triad of Promising Locals in Albondigas, Marge & Cool Points at Golden Tea House Feb. 2

Tonight, The Guild presents an evening of music at Golden Tea House featuring a triad of promising local acts. Pop-punk quartet Albondigas offer rambunctiously loose (dare I say) playful songs that provide for a catchy advantageously energetic atmosphere. Speaking of playful, get acquainted with the female foursome of Marge. Intermingling open-book lyrics delivered in twee-fashioned layered with decidedly low-key bass groove-driven instrumentation, the band creates movement while focusing the spotlight on its words. Sharing a sense of lyrical honesty while demonstrating an opposing musical approach, noise-punks Cool Points unleash assertive artillery-style instrumentation, paired with Jill Mallon’s forthright vocals. A pair of Brooklyn-based rock groups with a sprinkling of punk tendencies in Adult Dude and female-fronted quartet Chumped round out the bill.
