The Dude Hates Cancer Afterparty w/Orbit to Leslie, Cheers Elephant & Swift Technique at JB’s Sept. 15

Today, North Bowl hosts the 7th annual The Dude Hates Cancer bowling tournament, an event aimed at raising awareness and financial support for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Teams of six to ten people contribute a flat rate of $280 for three hours of bowling, in one of three waves beginning at 11:30am, 2:30pm, and 5:30pm respectively. The deal includes free shoe rental, a free participation t-shirt, a chance to win prizes and free admission into Jack Treehorn’s afterparty at Johnny Brenda’s. Last year’s event raised $83,000, and they plan to kick its ass in typical dude fashion upping the bar to $100,000.

The afterparty includes a triple threat - the cool, eclectic grooves of Orbit to Leslie, the psychedelic get-down pop-rock of Cheers Elephant, and the funkalicious sounds of Swift Technique closing the night out. Grab a white Russian, and let the party begin. Johnny Brenda’s, 1201 N. Frankford Ave, 9pm, $10, 21+ - Michael Colavita
