New Music Video: "No Such Thing" - Grubby Little Hands

And with joyous, Beach Boys-esque harmonies, Grubby Little Hands puts us in the right mindset with their new music video for "No Such Thing," as we count down the minutes until the end of this exhausting workweek. Well, screw it - we give you permission to take off early! Just make sure to take a moment and check out this surreal video that was filmed by Bob Sweeney at Rigby Mansion in Germantown. Weekend Warrior, October 28 - 30

Technically, Halloween falls on Monday. However, the autumnal celebration of dastardly deeds and debauchery will be in full flux this Saturday as Underground Arts opens its doors for the 7th Annual TJ Kong Halloween Costume Ball Rock N Roll Murdershow. Along with a haunting stir of booze-saturated country blues perpetuated by Kong & The Atomic Bomb, the candy-coated, Andy Moholt-led daydream down the rabbit-hole, better known as Laser Background, will provide their twist on The Zombies’ catalogue. The attitude-infused rumbling reverberation of Straw Hats and the serenading psych-pop grip of Grubby Little Hands will be joined by the slinky, streamlined, funk-fueled fire of MINKA and the rippling surf-psych wave of Ceramic Animal to seal this evening. Underground Arts, 1200 Callowhill St., 8pm, $15, 21+ - Michael Colavita

New Music Video: "Michael" - Grubby Little Hands

In Grubby Little Hands' new music video for "Michael," off their latest album Garden Party, you find its protagonist stripping away the confines of his suit and changing into his charismatic wresting alter-ego before roaming the streets of Philadelphia. He's embraced and gawked at by the unsuspecting passerbys before the lines of reality and imagination are blurred. The video was directed by filmmaker Brian Melton, a longstanding collaborative partner with the band, and stars Tom Tschop as the wannabe Ultimate Warrior. Grubby Little Hands will be performing next in Philly on Friday, July 29 at Boot & Saddle, opening for The Besnard Lakes.

Grubby Little Hands Record Release Show at JB's April 30

Psych-pop purveyors Grubby Little Hands have released their new album Garden Party to the mases via Lefse/Chill Mega Chill. The group was started by multi-instrumentalists Donnie Felton and Brian Hall, after meeting in college while studying music composition and theory. The duo released two previous albums, Imaginary Friends (2009) and The Grass Grew Around Our Feet (2012), and now with their latest record, Felton and Hall have been joined by guitarist Joseph Primavera and drummer Chad Brown to help fill out their hazy, sedative-pop sound. You can help Grubby Little Hands celebrate the arrival of Garden Party this evening at Johnny Brenda's, where they'll be joined by labelmate Shelf Life and Cold Foamers, who dropped their new album, Musketball, earlier this year. So take a dab & get lost in the sonics of the night. Johnny Brenda's, 1201 N. Frankford Ave., 9pm, $10, 21+ - H.M. Kauffman

New Track: "No Such Thing" - Grubby Little Hands

Grubby Little Hands' new record, Garden Party, will be released via Lefse Records on April 29. "No Such Thing," the second single from the album, opens with a haunting stir, before catapulting into a jangly, snap-and-pop psych vibe. It’s the kind of joyful tune that ushers in the warmer temperatures with enough of a twist to keep you on your toes. Grubby Little Hands will be at Johnny Brenda’s on April 30 with Shelf Life and Cold Foamers.
