New Video: "You're Still The One" (Shania Twain Cover) (Live - Swell Tone) - Free Cake For Every Creature & Hello Shark

Katie Bennett (Free Cake For Every Creature) and Lincoln Halloran (Hello Shark) welcomed the folks at Swell Tone into their apartment for a session. Covering Shania Twain’s “You’re Still The One,” the pair performs a bare, acoustic rendition on the couch. Honing in on harmony, the duo unlocks the song’s emotive qualities. You can catch Free Cake For Every Creature when they kick off their tour with Adult Mom on WednesdayMay 31 at Everybody Hits, as part of lineup that also includes Boosegumps and Emily Yacina.

New Music Video: "Wish We Talked Still" - Hello Shark

Below is a new music video for the single, "Wish We Talked Still," by Hello Shark, a.k.a. Lincoln Halloran. Directed by Free Cake For Every Creature's Katie Bennett, the footage was shot on Super 8 film, casting a reflective, daydream haze over the city of Philadelphia and the video's cast of characters. The sentimental visual and audio coupling makes us long to reconnect with lost loves, though we all know that some things are best buried in the past in the back of our memories. You can find "Wish We Talked Still" on Hello Shark's latest LP, Delicate, out now via Orindal Records. (Photo by Abi Reimold)

Weekend Warrior, September 30 - October 2

Delicate is a concise characterization of the new album from Hello Shark, a.k.a. Linc Halloran. Officially released today via Chicago’s Orindal Records, the album plays like an unhinged door into Halloran’s head. Lyrically keen observations, anecdotes, and imagery paint an autumnal exposure as the songs mimic the soon-to-be sparsely-adorned trees. One gravitates toward the uninhibited exposure reminiscent to Pavement and Bright Eyes, as that relatable, melodic sense of melancholy aches with honesty and shivers with warmth. Encoding the fresh breath of catharsis with dense yet airy pockets of samples and instrumentation, Power Animal, a.k.a. Keith Hampson, captivates, while the enchanting, low-key serenade of Seattle’s Mega Bog and the bright but turbulent tones of Baltimore’s Amanda Glasser complete this billing.
