Hound

New Hound LP Available for Streaming & Purchase

Born Under 76, the new LP from the hard-rockin' trio of Hound, was recently released, with Let's Pretend Records handling vinyl and cassette formats, while CDs are available via SRA Records. Oozing an inherent vocal-commanding, riff-galvanizing, classically heavy sound, a loose, energetic clarity resounds. Saturated in fuzz and quaking backend, the band finds a manner to channel its, at times, psych-inflected, adrenaline-laced tone, while maintaining a tank full of fun. That dynamic groove/riff combo seeps into your skull, and won’t let go.

New Track: "Aqualamb" - HOUND

"'Aqualamb' is an open letter to the man in the White House (who shall not be named)," HOUND frontman Perry Shall shares. "It is written from the perspective of all the people whose lives he is trying to destroy." And with a chorus that pays homage to Harry Nilsson's "Jump Into the Fire," the band's latest single is a riff-heavy denouncement of the Cheeto-in-Chief. The protest anthem can be found on HOUND's forthcoming album, BORN UNDER 76, due out on October 20 via Let's Pretend Records, and you can rock out with the power trio that very same evening at Space 1026 with Dialer.

New Music Video: “Walkin’ The Fine Line” - Hound

Hound’s Perry Shall shows us how to rock and survive in the woods of Pennsylvania in the band’s new video for “Walkin’ The Fine Line”. Co-directed by Shall and BJ Howze, the track can be found on 2015’s Out Of Space (SRA Records). Hound will be performing a cover set of the Damned this Saturday, October 29 at Boot & Saddle, and you can hear their originals live next in Philly on Friday, November 11 at Ortlieb’s.

Weekend Warrior, October 21 - 23

Disenchanting, unfiltered, steamrolling melodies streams from Amanda X. That focused post-punk sincerity tumbles ahead in a gritty, graceful manner, compiling a calm catharsis whilst simultaneously exposing the raw threads of emotion. This Saturday’s lineup at Everybody Hits is also reinforced by the delicate introspections of Yankee Bluff, whose loose jangly vibes are hardwired by a polished connection, and the bombarding, heavy rhythms and unrelenting riffs that coalesce as Hound swings for the fences. The exuberant, poetry-engrained punk of Pujol provides another intriguing wrinkle to this evening. Everybody Hits, 529 W. Girard Ave., 8:30pm, $8, All Ages (Photo by Scott Troyan) - Michael Colavita

New Music Video: "Cold Blooded" - Hound

Hilariously showcasing footage from Perry Shall’s bar mitzvah in 1998 (filmed by Joe Grisafi), the new music video for Hound’s “Cold Blooded” gets weird in a raging, good-natured way. Found on their 2015 release Out Of Space (SRA Records), the power trio's blistering, full-go sonic mentality unites with Mike Simpson’s editing prowess, creating candid moments by zooming in at opportune times, establishing a new contextual framework. You can catch Hound at Ortlieb's on Friday, November 11 with Ape!, Tournament, and ToWer.
