Kississippi Opening for Hurry at Michael Jordan July 13

New Music Video: "Oozing Positivity" - Hurry

Power-pop trio Hurry premiered a new music video today for "Oozing Positivity" at Brooklyn Vegan. The computer-generated animation was created by Dave Peterson, who also co-directed the video with the group's frontman Matt Scottoline. The track is off the band's full-length album Everything/Nothing, which is now available on cassette via Stereophonodon Records.

New Track: "Shake It Off" - Hurry

Lame-O Records' six-song compilation to benefit the United Cerebral Palsy foundation, Strength In Weakness, is due out on February 3. The local label has already shared tracks from Modern Baseball ("Alpha Kappa fall Of Troy The Movie Part Deaux") and Spraynard ("Haulin' Oats"). Its latest offering is another catchy power-pop ditty from Philly trio Hurry called "Shake It Off," which is definitely not a Taylor Swift cover and is available for streaming below. Weekend Warrior, November 21 - 23

Some lineups are solid but have weaker spots; others are strong with talent from top to bottom. Remember when the Phillies were strong, and now, well…before I digress, the bill this Saturday night is a can’t miss one, and conveniently it’s at Everybody Hits! The power-trio of Amanda X delivers sincere songs with a pop-punk melded tone and varying tempos that provide a tug and pull of energy that draws you close and then bursts through with the force of a crashing wave. Speaking of power trios, Hurry combines instrumental force and memorable, fuzzed-out guitar licks that lead into infectious rockers with lyrics incorporate a universal touch. Then, there’s the Dominic Angelella and Eric Slick pairing known as Lithuania. Their sound is simultaneously tight and twisted, hitting hard and fast in a lively garage-punk spectrum or delving off the beaten path and seeing where the synth and percussion leads them. Weekend Warrior, November 14 – 16

Just before SideOneDummy released Restorations' latest album LP3 the indie post-punk quintet embarked on a big tour of the US. The impressive nine-track album that was cut at Miner Street Studios and the bands homecoming is certainly worthy of a big celebration, which is happening at First Unitarian Church this Saturday, and they'll be joined by a great supporting cast of locals. Pop-punk femme fatales Cayetana have had a huge year that culminated with the release of their debut full-length, Nervous Like Me, and a spot on the Brooklyn Vegan CMJ Showcase. And the girls are poised to move onto an even bigger 2015. What started out as a one-man project by Everyone Everywhere's Matthew Scottoline has evolved into the lush power-pop trio that is Hurry.
