I IM EYE MY

I IM EYE MY for the W/N at W/N W/N April 22

The pairing of Al Creedon (ex-Bleeding Rainbow) & Sean Hamilton (Spacin’, ex-Acid Kicks), which constitutes I IM EYE MY, produces results that experimentally pull from a diverse sonic palate. With a percussive beat-forward foundation, the pairing is geared to create electronic tribal soundscapes with a twisted yet intoxicating futuristic spin, locking you in as you become synched up to rhythms and slipping in those well-placed elements of strange along the way. Tonight at W/N W/N, they will joined by Baltimore’s Sick Lion, whose new Overturned Trash Can Lid LP is due out on April 24 via Gaarden Records, crafting danceably, dreary material, while orchestrating a middle ground where sadness and movement coexist. Detroit transplants Growth Program get things started, dishing out stretches of panoramic noise. W/N W/N, 931 Spring Garden St., 8pm, Free (Photo by Ryan Muir) - Michael Colavita

NAH & I IM EYE MY at Cha-Cha'Razzi Jan. 17

Mike Kuhn (of 1994!), a.k.a. NAH, hits you with a surprise attack of combative style hip hop. Seemingly using everything in his arsenal, NAH is a noise-oriented jolt to the nervous system. It's unpredictable nature circulates adrenaline, while the heavy percussive techniques shake you into submission. There’s a particular edge associated with the unknown, as though anything can emerge around the bend. Tonight, at South Philly's Cha-Cha'Razzi, I IM EYE MY the creative pairing of Sean Hamilton (Spacin’, ex-Acid Kicks) and Al Creedon (ex-Bleeding Rainbow) will continue their experimental endeavor, developing flowing textures of sound and erecting a living, breathing body of music destined for a place one’s never been but is enticed to see first hand. The jarring post-punk blast of Kerosene as well as Naked Pyramid’s laboratory of psych tones set the pace for a show that invites you in without fully telling you what’s behind the door. Cha-Cha'Razzi (Please contact one of the acts or venue for more info.), 8pm, $6-$8, All Ages - Michael Colavita

Get Hypnotized by I IM EYE MY at The Boot & Saddle July 25

Tonight, the combination of Al Creedon (Bleeding Rainbow) and Sean Hamilton (Spacin’, Acid Kicks), a.k.a. I IM EYE MY, opens what should be an entertaining sonic exploration at The Boot & Saddle. The duo, intricately layers textures of sound, creating perpetually on the move batches of animated music, warping you into a hypnotic groove that’s part Casio, fuzz, and tribal percussion. Stacking up together on stages, that could alter your mind’s eye. Speaking of shape shifting, Chris Forsyth & the Solar Motel may be just what the doctor ordered as the launch into guitar-driven orbits on spiritual quests that peacefully place you further out there, setting the stage for the consistently evolving experimental psych noise rock of Brooklyn’s Oneida. The Boot & Saddle, 1131 S. Broad St., 8pm, $10, 21+ - Michael Colavita

Arc In Round Come Out of Hibernation at Everybody Hits May 25

Jeff Zeigler's experimental ambient noise collaboration with harpist Mary Lattimore has been in relatively high demand lately, and they are working on a debut release. And with all his production projects for rising acts like The War on Drugs, Nothing and a plethora of others, Mikele Edwards' new band Myrrias flourishing, and bassist Josh Meakim, who should be heading on tour with A Sunny Day in Glasgow in the near future, Arc In Round performances are coming few and far between. Well, the group has come out of hibernation this Memorial Day weekend; tonight, they'll be making their return at Girard Avenue DIY space Everybody Hits, and in tow will be drummer Steve Urgo (ex-War on Drugs, The Interest Group), who has replaced Matt Ricchini, since most of his time is spent on the road these days doing sounds for acts like Baroness. You'll also find I IM EYE MY, who just released a new EP 7 Transmissions via Not Not Fun, BAnana Symphony, and People Skills. Everybody Hits, (Please contact one of the acts or venue for more info.), 8pm, All Ages - H.M. Kauffman
