Video Premiere: "Silvermoon" - Archawah

With his new solo project aptly named Archawah, Chris Archibald’s (frontman of Illinois) true aim as he states is “getting it out there”. With that goal in mind, Archawah plans on releasing six EPs over the next year. Without further adieu, we are happy to premiere the video for “Silvermoon” which can be found on Archawah 1. The video embraces the youthful freedom of imagination in exploring and creating a new frontier. Step inside and gently launch into outer space.

New Illinois EP Available for Streaming & Purchase

With the temperature on the rise for an unusually warm Christmas in Philly, the thought of the release of a new EP this winter, titled Summer, doesn't sound like such an odd idea. The latest album from Illinois features a DJ Skipmode remix of their single and its original, which can originally be found on the band's full-length record, Shine, that was released towards the beginning of this year. It also includes the previously unreleased track "2020." Illinois will be performing next in Philly on Saturday, January 30 at The Fire.

New Music Video: "Summer" - Illinois

Did everyone else in Philly get a loud flash flood warning via their cell this morning around 5am? Not cool. Well, the sun seems to be peaking out for now, snapping us back to good vibes that we felt this past weekend. Well, indie-rock/pop outfit Illinois is here to help you through the rest of this hump day with beachy vibes in the new music video for their single "Summer." You can find the track on their latest full-length album Shine.

Illinois Record Release Show at JB's Feb. 21

Genre-spanning, local area elder statesmen of indie rock Illinois are set to celebrate the release of their fifth album Shine at Johnny Brenda's tonight. The bold, multi-layered project was over three years in the making for the Bucks County natives, and the end result is a carefree blend that's equal parts indie-folk and pop-rock. The latest track from Satellite Hearts, “Doing Things Right,” is another new song that piqued my interest recently. And tonight will be a good time to catch the trio before they open for Dean Ween next month. The show will also feature a savvy member of the Philly DJ crew Illvibe Collective, DJ Skipmode, who will pulling double duty as part of the hip-hop duo, Electric City. Johnny Brenda's, 1201. N Frankford Ave., 9pm, $10, 21+ - Bill McThrill

Weekend Warrior, January 23 - 25

Ever since Wesley Bunch moved to Philly from Virginia Beach, he’s been finding a whole lotta love for his project Suburban Living. He has also found seasoned bandmates in Michael Cammarata and Chris Radwanski, who were formerly in Night Panther and White Birds together and will be pulling double duty this Saturday night with their new project Spirit Haus. Suburban Living will be celebrating the release of their vibrant self-titled album, and will be playing their first ever Philly headlining set at Bourbon & Branch tonight. They'll be joined by the charismatic Illinois, who will have some new material to share since they recently sent out the mastered recordings for their upcoming release that's on the horizon. Also on the bill is Purples, who just put out some material of their own. There will certainly be a lot of fresh new tunes for your listening pleasure this evening. Bourbon and Branch, 705 N. 2nd St., 8pm, $7-$10 21+ - Bill McThrill
