The Lawsuits

Weekend Warrior, November 10 - 12

We were surprised and saddened to hear that folk-pop outfit The Lawsuits are calling it quits this weekend due to “unforeseen circumstances”. We’ve had the opportunity to watch the band mature as musicians and songwriters, and are sure that Brian Dale Allen Strouse, Brendan Cunningham, Vanessa Winters, and Josh Friedman will continue to stay active and share their talents with the Philly music community in one way or another. They are a bunch of kind folks, and you can show them some love at their farewell performance this Saturday at Underground Arts. They’ll be surrounded by friendly faces and music pals Chris Kasper, Dirty Dollhouse, and Sun Parade. Join in the good vibes!

We also suggest for you to get out to Great How You’ve Been Fest this weekend, where you’ll find local up-and-comers like Julia Rainer, Gender Work, and Secret Nudist Friends. The three-day festival will be taking place at DIY spaces Tralfamadore, Slime Time Live, and The Woods. Good people will be opening up their homes to us so be respectful. – Alex G.

The Lawsuits Continue Their Endearing Journey at Boot & Saddle Sept. 23

Earnest, soulful emotion threads the quilted sonic fabric of The Lawsuits. Rolling into Boot & Saddle this evening, the band serves up their custom blend of Americana - parts folk-narrative, daydream inducing pop-rock, anchored by reinforcing vocal harmonies, sleekly slipping into grooves, and spiked by a blues echoing get down. With their latest album, Moon Son, available via Randm Records, the crew continues its endearing journey. Tonight, they’ll be joined by the momentous, folk-accented rock of New England’s Nemes and the earth-shaking folk-stomp of labelmate Jeremiah Tall. Boot & Saddle, 1131 S. Broad St., 8pm, $12, 21+ - Michael Colavita

New Music Video: "Wasted" - The Lawsuits

Found on their latest album Moon Son, which is available via Randm Records, The Lawsuits's new 360-degree video for “Wasted” wraps one up in the visually warping, sparse imagery. That calming groove plays into the context of finding a better half. The Lawsuits will be performing at Boot & Saddle on Friday, September 23 with Nemes and Jeremiah Tall, and they will also have new guitarist/manager Chris Radwanski (Suburban Living, Night Panther) in tow.

New Music Video: "Hail Storm" - The Lawsuits

Bob Sweeney provides a candid look in The Lawsuits’ new music video for “Hail Storm,” featured on their latest album Moon Son, which is available via Randm Records. The footage documents the quintet as they embrace the simple rejuvenating joys of fresh cuts. They'll be performing next in Philly on Friday, September 23 at Boot & Saddle with Nemes & Jeremiah Tall.

New Music Video: "Romeo" - The Lawsuits

The Lawsuits give us a 360-degree view in their new music video for the track "Romeo". The beautiful footage was shot using seven GoPro cameras and a specialized mount. You can find the single on the group's latest LP Moon Son, which is available via Randm Records.
