Folk-pop crew Lovers League will be celebrating the release of their forthcoming album 2 this Friday, May 8 at Boot & Saddle. The group also just shared an old-timey take on Huey Lewis & The News's mainstream power-pop ditty "Hip to Be Square," off the band's 1986 multi-platinum LP Fore!. “Hide and Seek,” Lovers League's first single and music video off their forthcoming sophomore album 2, which was produced with Bill Moriarty (Dr. Dog, Man Man, Lotus, etc.), has a gentle, rolling groove as Dani Mari and Reverend TJ McGlinchey’s vocals wrap around each other in a tale that creates a parallel between the innocence of youth and a blossoming attempt at love. 2 will be released on May 12, while Boot & Saddle hosts the record release show on May 8 that also features Vilebred, Levee Drivers and Frank Kolbman painting live. Reverend TJ McGlinchey and Dani Mari recently put out a charming, folk-pop self-titled EP under the name Lovers League. The album is a combination of each of the artists' solo works performed as a duet. The band's sound is rounded out by members Christopher Davis-Shannon and Dean Gorfti.
