Pill Friends

New Pill Friends Compilation Available for Streaming & Purchase

100% of the proceeds from Pill Friends' new compilation, Let’s Be Nice – B-sides, Covers & Demos (Out of Breath Records), will go to a trust for Ryan Wilson’s daughter, Laurel. Weaving a communicable blend of lo-fi fragility and enthusiasm, this collection continues to exhibit bedroom-door-ajar, personal narratives. Drenched in vocal sensitivity and sparse, into-the-void instrumental accompaniment, the songs take hold. Orchestrating an inherent sadness with cathartic ends, one is reminded of Wilson's brilliant vulnerability.

New Track: "Time of Need" - Pill Friends

Hearing about the passing of Pill Friends' Ryan Wilson was quite a shock to us all here at The Deli. We were instant admirers of his biting, sardonic yet painstakingly truthful tunes, with both Blessed Suffering and Fade Into Nothing being chosen as our Record of Month for October 2013 and June 2014. However, more positive news recently appeared on Pill Friend's Facebook page about the posthumous release of Let's Be Nice, "a compilation of ryan/pill friends b-sides, covers and demos," which should be coming out soon. You can now stream the album's heart-wrenching lead single, "Time of Need," below. <3

New Music Video: "Holy Like You" - Pill Friends

As part of Vancouver’s File Under: Music's One Song at a Time video series, Pill Friends has released a new song and corresponding video for “Holy Like You,” which premiered yesterday at The A.V. Club. While the video navigates the warmly-shaded spectrum of sea and skies, the song swims in a subdued stream of sadness. You can also play with the track's stems to create your own remix HERE.

New Pill Friends LP Available for Streaming & Purchase

Pill Friends released a new album, titled Child Sacrifice. The record, which is available on vinyl and cassette via Out of Breath Records, continues the band’s ability to expose emotive vulnerability in an aching, fragile and oftentimes warped manner. Internal monologues gain infectious traction, transforming into a universal outcry that musically flows between moments of intimate tranquility and bursting forth anguish. (Photo by Sweeney Todd)

New Music Video: "Bleed" - Pill Friends

Below is a new music video from local bummercore outfit Pill Friends for the single "Bleed," which was directed by Stephen Tringali. The deceptively upbeat-sounding track is off the group's forthcoming record, Child Sacrifice. The album will be available on vinyl and cassette, starting February 12 via Out of Breath Records.
