Psychic Teens

Weekend Warrior, May 27 - 30

With their third full-length album NERVE (SRA Records) hot and fresh off the press, Philly post-punk trio Psychic Teens is poised to inject this city’s music scene with a nourishing dose of melodic gloom. The new LP continues in the same vein of early 80's goth rock that put them on the radar of many prestigious publications. Down to lead singer Larry Ragone’s deep vocal timbre, the band obviously has a high opinion of the dark and brooding stylings of Bauhaus, but in a modish contemporary twist, they add the fluid textural blend of shoegaze to the instrumentation. You can catch Psychic Teens divvying out the hot rocks this Saturday at Johnny Brenda’s with Vivatape, the new wave noir band from an 80's interpretation of a dystopian future, and Mt. Billions, who walk the line between Wooden Shjips-style psychedelic noise rock and True Widow stoner drone. Johnny Brenda’s, 1201 Frankford Ave, 8pm, $10, 21+ - Bryce Woodcock

New Video: "Everything" - Psychic Teens

Psychic Teens' new video transforms a status quo children’s party into a rockin' one. Directed by Eric Bresler, with Bob Sweeney handling cinematography, the post-punks take the stage at PhilaMOCA to a crowd of raucous children who smack balloons and eat/fight with cake to the downhill, hazy thump of  “Everything”. The song is featured on the band’s new album NERVE available via SRA Records. You can party along with Psychic Teens at their record release show on Saturday, May 28 at Johnny Brenda’s with Vivatape and Mt. Billions.

New Track: "Winter Grey" - Psychic Teens

Below is the latest track from Psychic Teens forthcoming album NERVE, called "Winter Grey". A thick, murky undercurrent rolls over the band's new single with Larry Ragone's signature baritone vocals digging away below the surface. NERVE is due out on May 13 via SRA Records, and Psychic Teens will be performing next in Philly on Saturday, May 28 at Johnny Brenda's with Mt. Billions.

New Track: "EVERYTHING" (Feat. Miranda Taylor) - Psychic Teens

Psychic Teens just shared the second single off their forthcoming album, NERVE, called "EVERYTHING". The track features guest vocals from Black Wine's Miranda Taylor, and the record will be officially released on May 13 via SRA Records. The band is set to hold its hometown record release show at Johnny Brenda's on Saturday, May 28; however, if you can't wait that long for your live Psychic Teens fix, the horror trio will be opening for Youth Code at The Foundry on Sunday, May 1, along with Void Vision.

New Track: "End" - Psychic Teens

Post-punk trio Psychic Teens is scheduled to release its new album, NERVE, on May 13 via SRA Records. The band recently shared the album’s closer, aptly titled “End”. The track jars with its roaring guitar and percussive thrust as Larry Ragone’s centered, baritone vocals bellow, building up to the demolition-aimed, combative instrumental chaos that comes at the conclusion. Psychic Teens will celebrate their third full-length album with a record release show at Johnny Brenda's on May 28 that also includes Vivatape and Mt. Billions.
