Here's an impassioned new track from Restorations called "New Old." It's the first offering from their upcoming 7-inch that is being produced by Miner Street Recordings' Jon Low, which is due out March 5. There will also be a full-length record to follow.

The next time you want to take a road trip without evoking shitty memories of college, bring some Restorations with you. They’ve managed to craft powerful, uplifting post punk with a peripatetic feeling, as if all the members are restlessly, constantly thinking about how to push their influences farther. They’re as grand as a punk band can be, more akin to The War on Drugs than Hot Water Music at times, and never once veering into hokey faux-Americana territory. They’ve also gained a rep for their blisteringly loud shows - for as great as they sound on record, their shows are forceful in a very different way. Congrats to Restorations! It was just announced today that the band has signed with LA’s SideOneDummy Records, which houses acts like Gogol Bordello, The Gaslight Anthem and many others. They’ll begin tracking their 2nd full-length album on August 15 at Miner Street Studios with producer Jon Low. You can expect a new LP to be available sometime in early 2013.
