New Video: NEST FEST 2 (Documentary)

Documentary filmmaker Matthew Yeandel recently shared his latest project with co-conspirators Ben Cohen and Deanna Brown - Bahama Jeff Productions. Nest Fest 2 captures the gritty, creative and supportive nature of Philly DIY space The Nest by taking us into their now annual blow out. You'll find local artists Line Leader, RFA, Husky Bundles, and many others sharing their music and experiences. House resident and fest co-organizer Joey eloquently reveals, "I want people to come here and see what we do, and I want it to influence them enough to a point where they feel genuinely impacted." Much love to The Nest and the rest of Philly's DIY community for helping to make our music scene so rad! (Photo by Lina Xinos)

Daytrotter Sessions - Teen Men & RFA

Local area music received a bunch of love yesterday over at Daytrotter. They released recent sessions with psych-pop outfit Teen Men and indie rockers RFA. You can stream a couple of the tracks from each session for free, and both are available in their entirety for streaming and download with membership.

RFA Cruises In at WCL Sept. 3

The four-piece caravan of Really Fast Automobiles, a.k.a. RFA, cruises into the upstairs of World Café Live this evening. The band toes the threshold of easily assimilating garage rock with vocals that maintain an even keel, but appear on the verge of breaking loose from control and blues-inflected instrumentation that comes loaded with smooth riding rhythms and tight riffs. They’re crisp and clean like a good drink, but have the capacity to throw in another shot to stir things up. Clean contoured guitar licks and steady-handed, harmony-centric vocals shape The Reflexes' pop-rock sound, while the breezy warm crooning of Mike Bailer Band gets things started. World Café Live, 3025 Walnut St., 8pm, $8, All Ages - Michael Colavita

New Music Video: "Freaking Out" - RFA

Below is a new music video from indie rockers RFA for their uber-catchy single "Freaking Out." It's the title track from their latest EP, and the video was created by Caitlin McCann (Dog Days Film). RFA will be performing next in Philly on Friday, June 5 at Mantua Yacht Club with Roof Doctor.
