Space Drugs

New Space Drugs LP Available for Streaming & Download

As we prepare to trudge through the mess of winter, Space Drugs' debut LP, Black Dog Takes The Bait, could be a fitting soundtrack. The trio establishes a salty, gritty texture which is emotionally raw and agitated with instrumentation that is solemnly aloof yet prepared to get aggressive and smash something at any moment. Check it out for yourself in its entirety below!

Weekend Warrior, January 16 - 18

In honor of his 5th anniversary of living in Philly, the promoter behind End Result Productions and Philly DIY Shows, Nick Duval, has organized a two-day festival, Blistering Ephemera, that features his favorite experimental rock and punk acts converging upon PhilaMOCA for one jam-packed weekend. It will feature buzz-worthy out of town acts like Two Inch Astronaut, Big Ups, Palberta, and Nashoba, as well as plenty of hometown heroes. On Saturday Pinkwash will electrify with their soul-pounding power punk, and Disinterest will crush with their raw and visceral hardcore. Sunday will be headlined by Andy Molholt and the rest of Laser Background, who are preparing a big tour in support of their upcoming EP Kelly Wisdom. Meanwhile, The Spirit of the Beehive will showcase exactly why they’re rapidly becoming one of bands to watch in 2015. And Space Drugs will be quick to impress with their noisy garage rock. With 20 eclectic acts total on the lineup, this is definitely a festival to catch on both days. PhilaMOCA, 531 N. 12th St., 3pm, $10-$12 each day, All Ages - Bill McThrill

Weekend Warrior, August 29 - September 1

Yes, yes - Budweiser’s Made in America is in town once again (as well as in Los Angeles), but if you’ve been following or are familiar with The Deli Magazine, then you should know that we prefer to experience concerts in a more intimate setting. And you should discover that at the grand opening of Kensington’s Chill Collins Art Space this Saturday, where you’ll find the psych-rock-lovin’ lineup of Drone Ranger, Harsh Vibes, Seismic Thrust, Space Drugs, and Xiannoi. So avoid the crowds this weekend in Center City and support the artists that will appreciate and actually notice that you made it out - enjoy! Chill Collins Art Space, (Please contact one of the acts or venue for more info.), 8pm, $5, All Ages - Alexis V.

Space Drugs and The Deadeyes rock Kung Fu Necktie April 12th

The season of new continues onward in full effect for Space Drugs at Kung Fu Necktie tonight.  After hibernating during the winter; the experimental garage punk outfit welcomed a new bassist to the fold, worked on plenty of new songs, and have their next album lined up to be released over the summer. Tonight’s show will be a good opportunity to preview all of the above. The Deadeyes (ex-Grubstake) will be following along with the theme as maestros of elegant punk with violin.  Word is they have been recording new tracks in the studio of late. And Baker Man will also likely be previewing tracks from their upcoming debut EP. Filling out the lineup will be Maryland's Alarms + Controls. Kung Fu Necktie, 1250 N. Front St, 8PM, $5 All Ages – Bill McThrill
