The Dove & The Wolf have a new EP I Don’t Know What To Feel, which was produced by Dave Hartley (The War On Drugs, Nightlands) and Nick Krill (The Spinto Band, Teen Men). The lead single “The Smell Of Us” focuses on the duality of living within the temporarily fantasy created in intimacy, while simultaneously understanding the changing tides of reality. Those complex thoughts are delivered in a percussively snappy breezy pop daydream. Catch their record release, which also includes Jesse Hale Moore, June 15 at Johnny Brenda’s. 

This past Thursday, Pattern is Movement celebrated the release of their 12" "Suckling" b/w "Untitled (How Does It Feel)" at Union Transfer, while continuing to pique our interest in regards to their long-awaited LP that is scheduled to drop in January 2014 via Hometapes. Stacking the bill with talented pals The Spinto Band, Norwegian Arms, Worshyper and the WYLDSTYLE DJs (who brought the 90's dance-pop jams), all were encouraged to shake what their mamas gave them. The truly dynamic duo of Andrew Thiboldeaux and Chris Ward, a.k.a. Pattern is Movement, headline an exceptional evening of Philly-centric musicians tonight at Union Transfer. The 12’’physical release of their new single “Suckling” b/w “Untitled (How Does It Feel) will also be on-hand at UT. The pair produces multilayered songs that harness the textured interplay of an array of instruments, primarily keys/synth/percussion and vocals, creating an elaborate way to get into the mood for some lovin’. Delaware natives, The Spinto Band, will help to warm things up, bringing their sleek combination of crisp vocal harmonies and airy arrangements, while another intriguing outfit Norwegian Arms cooks up their custom recipe of high-energy weirdo folk. Buried somewhere in the garages of Delaware exist a collection of cassettes that contain the first recorded product of The Spinto Band… and it is with this kind of humble beginning that greater things have since flourished. From the lyrical scribblings on Grandfather Roy Spinto’s Cracker Jack box that spawned the band’s inadvertent birth, right up to the Sears commercial that saw their melodies brought into living rooms across the country, the journey of The Spinto Band is an interesting one to say the least. Fresh from a recent stint in Europe, which ended this past week, it’s a homecoming for these self-made pioneers of indie pop, and they’ll be riding in on a wave of much recent success. In addition to their triumphant European campaign, a positive review in the nationally renowned publication The New Yorker and the release of their latest album Cool Cocoon building acclaim, these feel-good professionals are not jaded by their milestones, but rather, just happy to be home where it all started… and the feeling is mutual.
