NonMutant just shared its second benefit compilation NonMutant Presents Volume II: Unite!, a release whose proceeds benefit United We Dream. The organization helps to protect immigrants, defending against deportations, gaining educational access, and seeking justice for LBGTQ immigrants. A cavalcade of local Philly bands including The Stammer, Sandcastle, Lizdelise, Full Bush, Blood Sound, Sheena & Thee Nosebleeds, and Young Pilgrims can be found on the collection. On Friday, September 28, The Barbary will host a charity benefit show for United We Dream, featuring Young Pilgrims, Ess See, Full Bush, and The Stammer.

Philly indie rockers The Stammer just shared a new single, called "Bell". It can be found on a charitable compilation, entitled Assemble!, which is being released via New York's Non Mutant. All proceeds from Bandcamp sales will be donated to Planned Parenthood Action Fund, a nonprofit organization that fights "to advance access to sexual health care and defend reproductive rights." "Bell" was recorded during the band's sessions for Face in Peril, The Stammer's latest LP.

Face In Peril, the new album from post-punk four-piece The Stammer, is out today. Capturing the melancholy of relationships gone awry and the subsequent fall out, a looming emotive friction melodically pushes forward as shards of guitar are cast. The LP feels extremely personal as the ongoing existential search unravels in real time, casting a calm but penetrating sense of uncertainty. Ortlieb’s will be hosting the band’s record release show this Saturday, August 11, supported by Summer Scouts, Last Full Measure, and Parrot Dream.

The Stammer channel the late, great Lou Reed on their new single, “In Which We Burn”. Featured on their forthcoming album Face In Peril (due out August 12), the song utilizes controlled bursts, distancing itself from the pain of the past. The volatile guitar/bass/drums combination breaks/tears away from the somber synth in search of a fresh start. The quartet will be at Ortlieb's on the evening of the record's release, where they'll be joined by Summer Scouts, Last Full Measure, and Parrot Dream.

In advance of their forthcoming album Face In Peril, The Stammer released a fresh single, “Over and Over”. Rather than meandering in the melancholy of infidelity and a subsequent breakup, the track offers an upbeat opportunity to get loose. Semi-spoken/sung lyrics reconcile with the past as a means to move forward. It's an energetic jolt, resetting the emotive system. The Stammer are slated to perform on Wednesday, June 21 at The Pharmacy, on a billing that also includes Talk Louder!, Happy Abandon, and Fluorescence.
