Single Premiere: Shi la Rosa “Space Queen”

We are proud to be able to premiere the new single, “Space Queen” from local Indie Pop musician Shi La Rosa. This is the alter ego of Rachel Colonna who release her debut EP, “Sometimes I Think Of You”, in collaboration with producer and multi-instrumentalist Sink Slow back in 2017.

“Space Queen” blend elements of disco, jazz, and radio-ready pop to create a track that is both sultry and danceable. This is a perfect end of summer backyard banger.

Frills share soaring new single “Drunk Girls, Drunk Boys”

Fall and the cold weather that follows are beginning to loom over the city, but don’t worry, summer isn’t over quite yet. For anyone in need of a power-up to boot and rally into the final round of warm weather, Frills has something valuable. The Brooklyn duo’s latest single “Drunk Girls, Drunk Boys” is a towering electro-pop track wearing its intentions on its sleeves. If the title doesn’t make it clear, the sing-a-long chorus and night-out verses will: this is music for letting loose and not caring. "Drunk Girls, Drunk Boys" follows a similarly excellent summer single "She's Got Love" which the group released in May with an accompanying music video– Cameron Carr

Iris Temple "Capsize"

Iris Temple have released a new single called “Capsize”, their third single of 2018 and first first from their forthcoming EP.

This is the soulful duo of Aura on vocal and Quinn Cochran on vocals and production. “Capsize” comes on the heels of their highly acclaimed single “Tear U Down” which dropped back in June.

Single Premiere: Taught Abroad “Breathe"

We are proud to premiere the first single, “Breathe”, from the forthcoming EP, “Foreigner”, from Taught Abroad. The new EP, his first since 2016’s “Harmonizer”, will be released on September 6th. This is the first of two EP’s Taught Abroad will be releasing in 2018. Together the EP’s show the two sides, light and dark, of love and self-worth.

Taugut Abroard is solo project of muliei-instrumentalist Chris Sadek and on “Breathe” he blends his signature falsetto with a blend or R&B and Electro-Pop.

You can help Taught Abroad celebrate the release of the new EP on September 6th at Emporium with Chnnll and Vesper.

Interview with nnin

Last month we stumbled upon a new album on bandcamp by an artist we had never heard before (or at least we think we’ve never heard before) called nnin. On “[re:Cover]” she has reimagined a collection of very well-know songs ranging from “Wicked Games” by Chris Isaac to “Wrecking Ball” by Miley Cyrus. On each song she takes a really unique approach and genuinely gives each song a new life.

We knew we had to write about the album, but in beginning that process we realized that we knew nothing about nnin. There were no links to social media or websites, no upcoming shows, no past releases, none of the information we typically share with our readers. However, there was the standard link to contact the artist that resides on all bandcamp pages. We clicked that link and here is the resulting interview with the mysterious nnin.
