Free Download: Friends of Tricycle Records Compilation

It is finally here! Tricycle Records has released the 5th installment of their local music compilation entitled, Friends of Tricycle Records 5! We really like how TR extended their submission invitation to local artists who are not on their official roster, featuring great artists like Lemme Adams, Brasil, The New Up and Analog Dream.

Enjoy this free compilation. It is a celebration of local music and such a great contribution during a time where record labels are all about profit.

DENIM SKELETONS Release "Into The Fright"/Mississauga Release Show

DENIM SKELETONS like it eerie, grimey and loud. The spacey four piece bring a different kind of energy to their music, with a creepy garage-rock vibe underneath a squeeky-clean sheen of beautiful songwriting and production. Leading up to the release of their first full-length album, “Into The Fright”, they’ve teased us with one last single to wrap our heads around. “Mall Doll” alternates between a slow trudge, sparce and spine-tingling, and a beautiful punk-waltz. It hits hard, blasting a wall of noise that is both pretty, and pretty frightening. Layers upon layers of meticulously etched out instruments, noises and vocals paint a picture worth screaming about. They’re hosting a big release show with a ton of other local talent, be at Clarke Memorial Hall in Mississauga, Nov 27th.

Gloriously tense noise rock trio Spray Paint releases 2nd LP of 2015: "Dopers"

The world of music lovers is divided in two categories: those who love pretty songs, and those who seek aural insanity. For the latter, we recommend Spray Paint, an Austin based trio whose sole purpose seems to be creating the most relentlessly tense music conceivable - edgy stuff! The group is also very prolific, having released five LPs in total, two this year alone, the latter (entitled "Doper") while touring the US. Fully dedicated to the cause, that's how you find your audience.

October Tooth releases newest installment, "Three."

New endeavors get lost as time blurs all lines, but some artists maintain their ground. Nashville minimalist musician, October Tooth, has remained forbearing in releasing each new iteration of the concept once a year, in October.

In 2015, we get the third installment of the October Tooth project, aptly named “Three.” With the help of local engineers, Cowboy Sam and Trevor Richardson, the sonically reticent sounds of “Three” act as a seemingly bleak backdrop for a deceptively lush range of motifs – uncertainties of reality, change and the “hope that the ones I love are proud of me.” October Tooth acts as a catalog of each year for the artist; it just so happens this most recent year held a lot of things. -Sean McHugh
