The Deli's Best of SF Bay Area Playlist is updated!

Hey new music lurvers!

We just finished updating our SF Bay Area Best Emerging Artists Playlist, featuring all the best local up and comin talent we covered in the last few years! Check it out HERE!

The Folks at The Deli

The Deli Philly's Featured Artist(s) Poll Winner: Camp Candle

After originally backing another artist in 2012, Camp Candle, the psych-pop combination of Nu-Ra and Hetepsa, knew that they would "need to make music together! As a duo!" Drawing inspiration from all that surrounds them, with specific nods to Michael Jackson and the music genres of shoegaze, dream pop, post-punk and new wave, the band is steadily finding its voice and sculpting its own sound one single at a time. Hopefully, someday, Nu-Ra's plan to perform in every major venue in Philly will come true, and before that happens, you can get the inside scoop about Camp Candle, our most recent Deli Philly Featured Artist(s) Poll Winner HERE.

Chameleon Culture play Thunder Road on July 7th

July 7th is your chance to catch the self-described "eclectic sonic-punch rock and experimental folk band," Chamelon Culture. The group prides itself on their ability to take the listener through a musical journey, constantly teetering between slow and mellow parts that seamlessly transition into high energy peaks, combined with sophisticated arrangements and intricate lyrics. Since their full-length album was released in January 2016, the band has being playing frequently in they home town of Boston, but recently also performed single dates in New York and Chicago. You can prepare for the upcoming show by taking a listen to their Bandcamp page, featuring catchy and pulsating songs like "Nothing Special," which opens with sparse strumming and is then layered with another guitar, before culminating in a huge punch of all the instruments playing at once. The music has very danceable and high energy moments, which is promising for a fun show. More infoand tickets can be found here

IGBO unveils video for 'Gimmie Gimmie' + works on new music

At first listen, music snobs will grope toward an easy classification of Afrobeat for Brooklyn collective IGBO (who made it into our Best of NYC Emerging Artists list earlier this year). However, upon continued listening, new and unexpected levels continue to emerge from 60s psychedelia to 70s funk. Just as their first EP appears to deconstruct an African Ethnic group’s name into a spectrum of trippy colors, their music is a chilly chill stroll through a mescaline tinged dance party. There is definitely a little Fela in IGBO’s trunk, but their flag flaps to its own beat. Check out their recent video for single 'Gimmie Gimmie' - the band is currently working on new music. - BrokeMC
