New Track: "Something I’ve been meaning to tell you" - Hour

Below is a new composition, "Something I’ve been meaning to tell you," from Philly instrumental collective Hour, which is made up of Abi Reimold, Peter Gill (Friendship, Free Cake For Every Creature, Florry), Michael Cormier (Friendship, Russel The Leaf), Jason Calhoun (naps), Evangeline Krajewski (Friendship), and Matt Fox. The lead single from their forthcoming sophomore LP premiered earlier this morning via Stereogum. Anemone Red, whose title was plucked from the Greek myth of Aphrodite and Adonis, was co-produced by the band and Francis Lyons (Free Cake For Every Creature). The title for their latest track was also inspired by a book of short stories, which was authored by Alice Munro. The record is scheduled to come out on November 11 via Lily Tapes, and they'll be celebrating its arrival on Thursday, November 8 at Beacon Church. (Photo by Dan Wriggins)

A Veiled Frame In Amber

A Veiled Frame In Amber is the work of Nathan Kwon, and today, Sept. 24th, he released an achingly beautiful collection ambient-tinged Neo-classical compositions called “Yet Another Season Graced Our Doorsteps”.

Logos is also the founder of the album’s label, Logos Borne, which has released a ton of great music over the last three years. He also records until names Crawl Across The Sky, Ashen Swan, Copernican, Lavender, and Haeun.

New Indiana release Darkness Sunshine LP, play Rockwood 09.01

After twenty years of performing together across the country, the minds behind New Indiana -- guitarist Randy Bergida and cellist Topu Lyo -- have distilled their many conversations, musical adventures, and friendship into Darkness Sunshine, their new LP set to drop on September 1st. There is little production on this record besides a bit of reverb, but neither fancy effects nor overmastering seem necessary to bring out the magic in Randy and Topu's voices and instruments. Their simple music opens up worlds of drama and calm, of full heads and empty hearts, despite its quiet nature. Think Simon & Garfunkel at their darkest; the vocal harmonies of New Indiana may invite some comparisons. To mark the release of Darkness Sunshine, New Indiana will perform at Rockwood's Stage 3 on September 1st -- the album's release day -- at 10:15 pm. Listen to the title track from Darkness Sunshine below. - Will Sisskind

Spritzer premieres video for "Jean & Helene"

NYC's Spritzer, the side project of Friend Roulette's Matthew Flory Meade, is a band of skilled musicians who, refreshingly, don't take themselves too seriously. The songs from their debut album, Love. Lies. Decay. have inflections of early-aughts indie reminiscent of Arcade Fire, but also sophisticated late '80s/early '90s pop like Prefab Sprout and The The. Songs like "Jean & Helene," whose video premiered a few days ago, are a rollicking ride, with relentless uptempo drums, reverb-laden vocals, and swirling synth lines that lend an air of the mystical to the already dream-like tunes. This is definitely a new NYC band to keep an ear on. - Ethan Ames
