Guerilla Toss unveils two new tracks + talks about gear on Delicious Audio

Brooklyn via Boston avant-punks Guerilla Toss just unveiled two new tracks from their upcoming release on DFA Records, "GT ULTRA" - check them out below. The band is ready to enter the next stage of their career with a full length that steps up the production values by several notches, broadening the act's appeal without affecting the "edge factor" that allowed them to build a cult following since they started releasing wildly experimental, dissonant and noisy records back in 2012. Our sister blog Delicious Audio is running a Q&A with Guerilla Toss' about their gear and creative process, check it out!

New The Lunar Year LP Available for Streaming & Purchase

The Lunar Year just released their debut full-length album Herodias today. Led by Katie Burke’s dynamic vocals, the band ponders literary themes and muses over youthful memories, intertwining the delicate with the dramatic. These songs serve as a series of snapshots, which upon reflection, create a captivating storyline. South Philly's Boot & Saddle will be hosting the quartet’s record release show on Saturday, July 1, where they will be supported by Rosu Lup and The Chairman Dances.

The Deli Philly's Featured Artist(s) Poll Winner: Slomo Sapiens

The power trio of Ceallaigh Corbishley, Greg Geiger, and Jon Pritchard, better known as Slomo Sapiens (a band name that you know you wish you thought of), has us excited about the next wave of garage-psych acts, being homegrown in Philly. The group is currently building a recording studio in their buddy’s basement so we are hoping to hear more rad tunes from the local power trio sooner than later. Until then, check out their latest single, “Fangs,” below, and take a gander at our recent interview with The Deli Philly’s Featured Artist(s) Poll Winner HERE.

Amelia Airhorn (The Knocks & Skylar Spence) unveil single "NY is Red Hot"

The sleepless summer nightlife of the city echoes throughout “NY is Red Hot” (streaming) a new track from Amelia Airhorn. A collaborative effort between electronic dance duo The Knocks, and nu-disco vocalist Skylar Spence, the track takes a ride on a time machine to the vintage disco and pop sounds of '80s and '90s New York, a city they pledge loyalty to in the lyrics ("New York is my life and I'm never gonna leave!"). The song pulsates with high energy grooves that conjure up images of sweltering hot summer parties and the carefree city lifestyle. Take it as a reminder to partay! - Tafari Lemma

New Music Video: "Pianos, Heavy Instrument"/"Snow on the Moon" - The Spirit of the Beehive

Together with visual artists/filmmaker/photographer Craig Scheihing, psych outfit The Spirit of the Beehive has provided us with a woozy documentation of their adventures on the road, soundtracked by "Pianos, Heavy Instrument" and "Snow on the Moon," songs sequentially found on band's latest LP Pleasure Suck (Tiny Engines). The former goes along with the band members on a scenic, hillside hike, before melding into the latter, where a lazy, sun-kissed day at the beach is eventually interrupted by the perpetual motion of life on the road. The Spirt of the Beehiove will be continuing their heavy 2017 touring schedule with a nearly month-long stint opening for The Districts this summer, but before they leave home, you can catch the guys and gal this evening at Spruce Street Harbor Park's Waterfront Sessions with Permanent Body.
